Live Music - Plague Dad/Vices Inc/A Modern Anthem

Plague Dad is the latest project from Portland's Frank Gallagher. A compelling live performer, Plague Dad is an acoustic act, steeped in the old-timey sounds of Jimmie Rodgers, the Carter Family, and the Stanley Brothers, but infused through and through with the punk-rock ethos that led Gallagher to music in the first place. His new release, 'Cops On Acid', is currently receiving airplay on college, community and Internet radio World-wide.

Vices Inc, Portland's pop-punk masters, bring a stripped-down version of their powerful live show to Novel. Fronted by the astonishingly talented vocalist Ellie Langthorne, Vices Inc will showcase a set of tightly crafted originals and carefully curated covers.

A Modern Anthem is the latest project from Sorrowfuse's Dave Lyden. With Sorrowfuse on hiatus, Dave's been giving voice to his melodic pop sensibilities, crafting tuneful songs that stick in your head. This show marks their Portland debut.
